c. 1940s-1950s; C. & E. Marshall Company - Chicago, IL Original enameled steel watchmaker's parts cabinet retaining two shallow pull-out drawers fitted with compartmented trays housing an assortment of labeled glass vials for Swiss watch stems. Each cork-stoppered vial is identified by stem size, with green felt inserts cushioning the delicate components. The cabinet retains its original faux wood-grain japanned finish, a decorative treatment commonly used on workshop storage cabinets to imitate stained hardwood while providing the durability of painted steel. An original C. & E. Marshall Company decal remains affixed to the lower drawer front. Cabinets of this type were designed for bench-top organization, allowing watchmakers to quickly locate replacement stems and other precision components during the repair of Swiss-made wristwatches and pocket watches. The cabinet exhibits moderate to heavy age-related wear, including scuffing, scratches, paint loss, oxidation, and scattered surface rust throughout. The faux wood-grain finish shows expected wear from decades of workshop use while remaining clearly identifiable. The top front corners are dented, consistent with the cabinet having been pried open at some point. Both drawers operate smoothly. The majority, but not all, of the original labeled Swiss stem vials remain present with their corks and green felt inserts, with a mixture of populated and empty compartments. One vial is cracked as shown, and several labels, corks, and containers exhibit typical age-related discoloration and wear. The original C. & E. Marshall branding remains legible despite pigment loss and wear. 11.75" W × 9.5" D × 2.5" H MM - C-21809 - 071626 For information regarding shipping, please visit our Terms & Conditions page here.
