PPG Amerlock Sealer 2 Gallon Kit - Clear Penetrating Epoxy Primer Sealer

Amerlock Sealer is a high-performance, two-component, 100% solids (solvent-free) penetrating epoxy primer/sealer and tiecoat produced by PPG Protective & Marine Coatings. It is specifically designed for marginally prepared or challenging surfaces where full abrasive blasting is not feasible. Its low-viscosity formula provides excellent “wicking” action that penetrates light rust, pits, and discontinuities in aged coatings while delivering superior adhesion and sealing properties. It also serves as an excellent tiecoat over many existing coatings and is compatible with damp surfaces. 2-Gallon Kit The 2-gallon kits include a 1-gallon Amerlock Sealer base (supplied in a 3-gallon container for easy mixing) and 1-gallon Amerlock Sealer hardener. Color: Clear Finish: Gloss Coverage rate: - Recommended DFT: 1.0 – 2.0 mils per coat (typically applied at 1.5 mils) - 1.5 mils: ~1,069 SF/gallon Amerlock Sealer Key Features: 100% solids Excellent wicking/penetrating action into rust and porous surfaces Compatible with damp surfaces and tightly adhering old coatings Outstanding tiecoat for dissimilar or aged coatings Clear gloss finish (may show slight ambering over time if left exposed) Temperature resistance (dry atmospheric service): Continuous up to 200°F (93°C); intermittent up to 250°F (121°C) Broad topcoat compatibility and good recoat window Common Applications: Sealer or curing compound for concrete surfaces, concrete floors in preparation for Amerlock 2/400 Maintenance painting on steel structures with marginal preparation (power-tool or hand-tool cleaned) Penetrating sealer over aged or tightly adhering coatings Tiecoat in multi-coat systems for industrial, marine, offshore, and infrastructure projects Bridges, tanks, piping, offshore platforms, power plants, water/wastewater facilities, and general industrial maintenance where blasting is restricted Typical Amerlock System by coat: First Coat: Amerlock Sealer (1 or 2 thin coats for penetration/sealing) Second Coat: Amerlock 2, Amerlock 400, Amercoat 370, 385, 450 series, or other compatible epoxies Third Coat: (optional for UV/color/abrasion resistance): Amershield, Amercoat 450 Series polyurethane, PSX 700/758, or similar DELIVERY TIME: Typically 4-7 business days following receipt of order.
