ON HOLD Vintage moroccan rug - red - Haouz - 4.4x6.9feet / 134x212cm

This real vintage rug was probably made by the local tribes in the plains around Marrakech. These rugs we call Haouz often come in warm colors like this bright red and show traditional designs like diamonds, "mechbouh" (the abstract design on the borders), "nesrani" and here tiny plants in pots! The colors on this rug are original and were not artificially faded with chemicals. The rug is made of sheep wool knotted over a cotton base. The pile is a medium and the rug is quite heavy. I have added to the pictures some views of the back of the rug, so you can see how tight the work was done. Pictures were taken in my bright and all white studio in Marrakech.
