Full Moon Waves

A canvas print based on an original PVC collagraph etching by Australian artist Jet James, created using his signature hand-etched printmaking technique. Known for its layered textures, flowing linework, and atmospheric depth, James’ contemporary approach to printmaking has become widely recognised within the printmaking and design community. Inspired by the rhythm and movement of the ocean beneath moonlight, this work explores the shifting energy of the sea through exaggerated textures, sweeping contours, and deep turquoise tones. The piece moves beyond realism, inviting the viewer into a dreamlike interpretation of the coastline — where memory, atmosphere, and emotion merge together. The etched lines mimic the endless motion of water and tide, creating a sense of movement and stillness existing simultaneously. Like the ocean itself, the image feels constantly changing depending on light, mood, and perspective. Poly-cotton blend canvas with a matte/satin finish. Scratch, crack, and warp resistant. Vibrant, long-lasting colors with water-based HP Latex inks and UV protection. Solid wooden frame from renewable sources, 4 cm deep.
