Vince Edmunds captures Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian icon of Formula One – an athlete who was more than a three-time World Champion and remains loved by millions both inside and outside of the sport. His portrait is recreated in Vince’s signature style, using glue chipped glass and 24 carat gold leaf, set against the Brazilian flag, painted in enamel to the reverse of the glass. The artwork is created in 4mm float glass, with the layered process giving both depth and clarity to the finished piece. In each corner of the composition sits a circuit that defined key moments in Senna’s career – Donnington, Estoril, Suzuka and Monaco – subtle references that ground the work in his racing legacy. Presented in a satin black frame with a gold sight line, the piece is designed to complement the warmth and presence of the gold leaf portrait. As with all of Vince’s work, the nature of the glue chipping process means each piece will carry a unique pattern, ensuring every edition is distinctly individual.
