An English Close Helmet, Circa 1570.
With a one piece skull with roped comb, single neck plate, stepped visor, prow shaped upper bevor, lower bevor shaped to the chin and associated front gorget plate, most edges turned and roped. Notes: The helmet probably owes its survival to having been suspended over an English tomb as part of a heraldic funerary achievement.
