97 points. - James Suckling 95 points. - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate A rare and deeply personal Barolo from Domenico Clerico, PerCristina is named in dedication to his daughter, Cristina, and is regarded as one of the estate’s flagship bottlings. It comes from the Mosconi cru in Monforte d’Alba, with Nebbiolo vines grown around 390–410m altitude on calcareous marl soils with fossil deposits, silt, clay and some sand — a terroir known for power, depth and longevity. The wine is only made in selected strong vintages. The 2015 PerCristina is dense, mature and commanding, showing dark cherry, black plum, cassis, dried rose, violet, liquorice, tobacco, tar, truffle, balsamic herbs and mineral depth. The palate is full-bodied and layered, with concentrated dark fruit, firm but polished tannins, lively acidity and a long savoury finish. The warm 2015 vintage gives generosity and richness, while the Mosconi site provides structure and ageing potential. Superiore notes that the wine underwent extended ageing — 36 months in barrique followed by 24 months in large cask — giving it both depth and harmony.
