Holding Light

Holding Light explores the space between movement and stillness, emergence and concealment. Layers of luminous turquoise, cobalt, violet and chartreuse create a shifting atmosphere around a deep burgundy form that appears to hover at the centre of the composition. Through gestural mark-making, translucent layers and energetic linework, the painting evokes a sense of passage—an invitation to move beyond what is known into a place of possibility and transformation. Balancing spontaneity with structure, the work draws on both organic and architectural references. Fragments of colour surface and recede, revealing traces of earlier decisions and creating a rich visual history within the painting.
