Welo Opal Necklace

Welo Opal comes from the Wollo Province of Ethiopia and is fast growing in popularity around the world because of the beauty of Ethiopian opal and attractive prices. The most important opal discovery in Ethiopia to date was made in 2008 near the town of Wegel Tena in the Wollo Province in the northern part of the country. This opal can have vivid play-of-colour flashing from a body colour of clear, white, yellow, orange, brown and red. These natural welo opals are elegantly set in solid sterling silver, on a necklace that is 56cm long, with additional 5cm adjustment chain.
