Presenting this White Shadow by Universal Genève housed in a classic C-shaped case, unmistakably influenced by the bold and fluid design language of Gérald Genta. It features a clean two-hand, time-only layout with an elegant white Roman numeral dial, embodying understated sophistication. Beneath the slim profile lies one of the thinnest automatic movements of its era. Upon its introduction in 1972, the calibre measured an astonishingly thin 2.5mm, making it the world’s thinnest automatic movement at the time, a record later surpassed only in 2003 by the Piaget Calibre 71, which came in marginally slimmer at 2.4mm. A charming little easter egg of this watch is that it still retains its original acrylic crystal, signed discreetly with the brand logo at the centre beneath the glass, a detail rarely seen and highly sought after among vintage Universal Genève collectors.
