Compost Covers for a Compost Bin. Our Compost Covers are designed to keep the contents in the compost bin moist. When the composting material starts to compost down, heat is produced which kills weed seeds and diseased material. In a dry summer or at other times of the year, without a compost cover moisture can evaporate away. The composting material dries out and the composting process stalls.
