No. 85 is a hand-built, one-of-a-kind ceramic sculpture created by Jana Osterman for Opus Art Collective's Growth / Rebirth Collection. Jana thoughtfully created this unique piece to celebrate the return of Spring, new connections, creations, and inspirations, and envisioned it to be enjoyed both with and without flora. It is watertight, with a beautiful deep blue, cobalt-hued glazed interior. The exterior features an extraordinary matte-black, crawling glaze achieved through twice firing to reach the perfect textured finish. It is hand-signed by Jana on the bottom and features tiny, non-scratch foot pads to keep surfaces safe. This piece was created to share our love of Jana's work with you, and to bring all the beauty, joy, excitement and energy of spring, when art and nature combine, into your space. Jana Osterman is an artist living and working in Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada. Born in Slovenia, she relocated to the Netherlands to study art at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague, following that she moved to the United Kingdom for printmaking studies, and then finally she travelled to Canada, where she has been working as an artist and fabricator since 1999. ❛ I work now mainly in three dimensions, closely relating to the natural world. My work is intuitive, my ceramics are hand built, often rearranged while in the making process, with an open end, each capturing a moment. I try to move through the world with my eyes open, noting the smallest details in the curves of bones, textures of sand, bark of trees, always chasing and longing for beauty. ❜ — Jana Osterman
