Lilac Haze — a breath of fresh air
On the North York Moors, there are moments when the heather and the sky seem to merge. The purple rises so densely from the ground that it softens at the edges — lifting into the air and thinning into light, as if the landscape itself is breathing. It doesn’t disappear so much as shift, gathering itself and returning again. Lilac Haze was painted from that experience — being out on the moors when the weather turns and the landscape feels alive. Neil McBride paints the moors not just as they appear, but as they feel: open, moving, and charged with a quiet energy that stays with you. The lilac tones move gently across the surface. The brushwork is loose and layered, catching the light much like the moorland does — never quite the same twice.
