Poly Effects - Josh Smith Flat V

A collaboration between its namesake guitarist and Loki from Poly Effects, the Josh Smith Flat V is a dual-sided gain pedal with immense versatility and fantastic tones. Side A is a transistor-based gain with selectable diodes. Schottky delivers that bluesy dirt that's perfect for crisping up your solos and getting edge-of-breakup sounds. A Josh Smith favorite. Germanium is that classic wooly, warm drive that fills out your sound and breaks up in a monstrous way. LED is a hard-clipping diode that provides lots of gain and brightness. Silicon is a sort of in-between with the gain of LED and the body of Germanium. Side B is where this pedal really kicks it up a notch. An amp-style circuit utilizing FETs instead of tubes for breakup, the slider controls manage typical parameters such as gain and master volume, and a high & low pass filter for EQ attenuation. Tap the center top logo to switch to the secondary controls. These all relate to the waveshape and side filter controls. Sine, Square, Triangle, and Envelope Follower filters all manipulate your signal to blend between Side A & B. Speed controls the decay time of the waveshape's manipulation and Sense controls how far the wave will dip your signal into each side. High Q and Low Q control resonant filters at the cusp of the High & Low Pass Filters for a unique EQ character. A pedal that begs for experimentation and play, and rewards that time with a unique toolkit of sounds and new ideas. 6 presets get you started and full midi control is onboard for when you've truly mastered this pedal.
