Sumatra, Kerinci Region: Sumatra Processing: dry-hulled Tasting Notes: malt, strawberry, black pepper The tropical climate on the Indonesian island of Sumatra contributes to the unique flavor of its coffee. 1500-1700MASL the warm, humid weather of the region helps to develop the full body and low acidity for which Sumatran coffee is recognized. Our newest coffee, Kerinci, is a spectacular representative of the region with its drinkability and taste. So much care is given to this coffee– which is why, when the farmer who grows it fell ill last September, the coffee community came together to support him. We are delighted to be part of the process– contributing a portion of each sale to a fund designed to help ease the burden. Kerinci sits as the most adventurous coffee in our current lineup. Coffee tastes like coffee, but if you're paying attention, it also tastes like a lot of other things. This one has notes of malt, strawberry, and black pepper.
