FSE 247 E: Practical Electronic FMEDA with FMEDAx- Online Instructor Led- Half-Day Sessions September 14-17, 2026
Course Description: The FMEDA method was invented to predict failure rates for each failure mode of a device, subsystem, or component. The ”Practical Electronic FMEDA with FMEDAx” course explains the FMEDA method, objectives, and output. In this course an example device FMEDA will be done showing the fundamental concepts including environmental profile selection, diagnostic coverage analysis, proof test coverage analysis, complex integrated circuit (IC) analysis, device packaging impact, and functional failure modes. The course also includes a trial license of the FMEDAx tool with the ECRHTM electronic component database. This database contains failure rates, failure modes and failure mode distributions for a variety of operational profiles and applications. Target Audience Device Hardware Development Engineers Reliability Engineers OEM Engineering Development Managers Duration: Presented as half-days- over 4, 4 hour sessions September 14-17, 2026 Tentatively scheduled to run 9:00am-1:00pm EST Instructor: Bill Goble Professional Development Hours available: Students will receive 16 Professional Development Hours (PDH) or 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEU) upon completion of the course
