. 1914(Aug 17) Plain envelope to Lindula & forwarded to Matale bearing GB GV1d tied Stamford cds in combination with Ceylon 3c & 2c tied Madulsima [21 Sep] cds for forwarding & with Stamp selvedge used by censor to reseal envelope plus boxed Censor/17 Sep 1914 & on reverse Lindula (16 & 18 Sep) & transits & Matale (22 Sep) arrival……C. Entwistle in “Ceylon, It’s Postal History 1914-19” states Civil Censorship had been introduced by September & the earliest date recorded is 26 Sep with a boxed Censor/26 Sep 1914 h/s & this is the only example recorded of this..
