STAGES hardcover book - RELEASE JUNE 8 - PREORDER NOW
A photographic magnum opus by Søren Solkær on Roskilde Festival, 1998–2025 400 page hardcover canvas bound 24,5x22 cm. coffee table book. Printed at Narayana Press in Denmark. Designed by Nicolai Bejder. Stages is a photographic project to be released as Solkær's 9th photobook and an exhibition, with the ambition of presenting and examining art - and the artist’s capacity to inspire and create community. The project encompasses artists of broad diversity across gender, ethnicity, and musical genres. With unique backstage access at Roskilde Festival, he has photographed more than 100 Danish and international artists before, during, and after their concerts - from young, emerging talents on the threshold of their first major performance to internationally established names such as Jack White, Mø, Dua Lipa, Aphaca, Arctic Monkeys and The Cure. What they all share is a trust in the photographer and a willingness to allow the camera to be present in their most vulnerable and intimate moments. The material has never previously been exhibited or published and therefore constitutes a unique project of significant cultural-historical value.
