Lead, Titanium & Zinc White: What They Do to Color—and to the Paint Film

This Technical Studio Session examines why the three principal whites used in oil painting behave so differently and how those differences matter in practice. We will compare their tinting strength, hiding power, color temperature, drying behavior, and interaction with other colors, using studio drawdowns, spectrophotometer measurements, drying tests, and published research.
