High Idle Control Automatically Increases Alternator Output. The Kussmaul Auto Throttle 1 is a high-idle voltage controller designed to automatically increase engine speed when low battery voltage indicates insufficient alternator output. Monitors battery voltage and sends control signals for engine speed adjustment (installer provides speed mechanism). It activates after voltage remains below 12.5V for 15 seconds, then maintains high idle for at least 5 minutes or until voltage exceeds 13.4V, helping prevent unnecessary cycling. With 20-amp relay contacts and adjustable compatibility with virtually any throttle actuator, it provides a simple, reliable solution for increasing alternator output and maintaining vehicle electrical power.
