VINTAGE 1970's Ludwig Double Bass Drumset in Maple Cortex Vintage Drum Set. Sizes: 14x22, 14x22, 5.5x6, 5.5x8, 6.5x10, 8x12, 9x13, 10x14, 16x16, 16x16 Details & Notes: Super sized 70's era Blue & Olive Badge Ludwigs in Maple Cortex. As was common with the era, Ludwig used up what they had. The shells are as follows: 14x22 clear 3ply mahogany w/ re-rings, 14x22 Granitone 3ply maple w/ re-rings interior, 5.5x6 clear 6ply maple, 5.5x8 clear 6ply maple, 6.5x10 clear 6ply maple, 8x12 clear 6ply maple, 9x13 Granitone 3ply maple w/ re-rings, 10x14 clear 3ply maple w/ re-rings, 16x16 Granitone 3ply maple w/ re-rings, and 16x16 clear 3ply maple w/ re-rings. This formula works out beautifully, as the smaller toms have a clearer cut with more attack, and the larger drums have more punch and thunder. The drums are in over all very good condition, with some chrome wear, and adhesive residue slightly present on a few toms from DIY tom rash bumper guards being present on the kit. Both bass drums have double tom mounts, and a separate double tom stand is present for the 6" and 8" concert toms. The Mahogany 22" bass drum has a wrap crack on the bottom of the drum, that seams to have caused some minor structural cracking, though nothing through the shell. Despite this, the drum is sturdy and fully functional. The same drum has had the rocker tom plate rotated 45 degrees for an unknown reason. A few toms have some significant wear to their badges. Two speed king pedals are included, though they need some work to play smooth. *Used and Vintage Drum Sets are on display in our showroom.
