Romain Henin (alongside his brother Thomas) represents the cutting edge of the new generation in Champagne. Stewarding just 7 hectares of clay-limestone soils around the historic terroirs of Aÿ and Mareuil-le-Port, their philosophy is uncompromising. Tractors are banned; the vineyards are tended strictly by hand using an agroforestry and biodynamic model where fruit trees and cover crops enrich the living soils. La Bulle Libre ("The Free Bubble") is the perfect moniker for this project. This is artisanal, minimal-intervention winemaking at its absolute peak. L'Odyssée Pétillante is a meticulous blend crafted from the 2023 harvest, combining 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Meunier, and 10% Chardonnay. Crafted completely without added sulfites or dosage, letting the direct energy of the fruit take center stage.
