Provenance Made during the 1960s, this vintage ruby and diamond cluster engagement ring is set to centre with a natural ruby with a stunning depth of colour. A vibrant cherry-red with a bright and lively appearance, this colour of ruby is particularly unusual and highly sought after. Claw-set in an open-back setting and surrounded by a cluster of ten round brilliant-cut diamonds, each perfectly matched in colour and clarity. The shape of the cluster follows the outline of the central ruby and has a pleasing and flattering cushion-like shape. The gallery is intricately pierced and the central ruby is very slightly raised. The ring's profile remains low on the finger, making it both comfortable and practical to be worn everyday as an engagement ring. The shoulders are very slightly open and feature chenier detail, to a ridge that then flows into a solid 18ct white gold shank. The Natural Stones Ruby Weight: 1.40ct Ruby Size: Length 7.5mm; Width 6.4mm; Depth 3.1mm Gem Certificate: Natural ruby of Cambodian origin; Cushion-cut; accompanied by GCS certificate #5787-0025 Total Diamond weight: 0.80ct; Ten round brilliant cut diamonds.
