CARL Coat | Desert Rose

Every Winter Sono wears an oversized vintage heavy wool overcoat that is a bit too long in the body and way too big on the shoulders with a raglan sleeve that had been made extra round over time, this was the starting point for Carl. The intention was to create an A-line silhouette with oversized rounded shoulders and the balance shifted to the front. The 2 part lining is hanging (not fixed at the hem) for the reason it creates less tensile stress and can be worn for many more years. This is a lot harder to construct and is more time to sew but important to us. The sleeves and top half top part are in a durable GOTS organic cotton twill we developed with our weaver in Veneto, because this gets the most amount of - all the same as the 90-year-old favourite make that has lasted so long and still works and looks elegant. We hope the CARL Coat can last this long too.
