Joining the highly successful soprano and concert Academy models, we are proud to now offer a baritone model in our natural finish. Perfect for teachers and group leaders to have a larger instrument for demonstration purposes as well as adult beginners and parents of budding Octopus players. The larger body naturally projects even more tone, and this size also has a longer neck with additional frets which can help to respell chords in different parts of the instrument. Size and range The baritone ukulele is the largest of the standard ukulele sizes (approximately 30") and offers a deeper, fuller tone. The increased scale length provides more space between the frets, making it comfortable for players transitioning from guitar. It typically has around 18 frets and is tuned D3–G3–B3–E4, giving it a lower pitch range than soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles. Build quality These Octopus ukuleles are built to be enjoyed for a lifetime. The classical guitar style bridge is accurately bonded directly to the body for excellent sound production and reliability. The tuning pegs are geared like a guitar meaning the strings are easier to tighten and will hold their pitch for longer. The side walls of the body are fully lined for stability, sound projection and high-quality appearance. Every edge and all the frets have been smoothed and finished to a standard higher than many more expensive instruments.
