{loke; a narrow lane or alleyway - Suffolk} loke | fingering is a blend of 50% baby alpaca, 25% silk, and 25% linen – fibres that give it a soft halo, glorious sheen, and a slightly slubby, rustic appearance. Perfect for spring tees, shawls, and lightweight cardigans and sweaters, the fibres are naturally non-superwash but this combination doesn't easily felt making it easy to care for. Our core spring shade collection comprises nine semi-solid shades inspired by a rustic bohemian palette of warm pink, terracotta, rusty orange, and mellow green. We dye Loke in small batches using a combination of kettle dyeing for semi-solid and tonal shades and low-immersion and hand-painting for variegated shades that will 'pool' or 'flash' depending on gauge. Even within a dye batch, each skein is unique as a result of our dyeing techniques. Hand wash in cool water to preserve the fibres and the vibrancy of the dye. As with all small-batch, hand-dyed yarn that doesn't have dye lots, we also recommend knitting alternate rows from two skeins when working on larger projects to avoid noticeable changes between skeins. We use professional acid dyes with good light and wash fastness and do our best to exhaust every dye bath and reuse water wherever possible to reduce any further environmental impact.
