BIO From the smallest stages to the biggest venues in Spain, El Altar del Holocausto has been redefining the sound and attitude of instrumental rock for over a decade. Faithful to their style and message, impervious to discouragement and trends, impeccable in the studio and impressive in their performances, they have become one of the leading European bands in instrumental music. El Altar del Holocausto are international reference in instrumental music, navigating between post-rock and ambient music. Their striking live performances have turned them into a cult band. With more than 300 gigs, they have toured around Europe, and in 2025 they made a major leap to the Asian continent, introducing their music to Chinese audiences. Their effort and sacrifice have led them to share the stage with some of the most important bands on the international scene, such as God Is An Astronaut, MONO, Red Fang, Russian Circles, My Sleeping Karma, Alcest, This Will Destroy You, Envy, Pentagram, among others, and to perform at the most important Spanish festivals such as Resurrection Fest, Download Madrid, Tsunami Xixón, Leyendas del Rock, as well as European festivals like Sonic Blast (PT), WeStill Fest (FR), Stoomfest (UK), Frantic Fest (IT), Gloomaar (DE), and even in Asia at Can Festival (CN). After a period of silence, ECOS symbolizes the band’s return and the beginning of a new chapter. The album’s title finds its meaning in a powerful analogy with migratory birds: species that, after spending the winter in warmer regions, cyclically return to their places of origin to begin again. It is a metaphor for return, persistence, and renewal that permeates the entire work. The album was recorded at Metropol Estudios (Madrid) during January 2026 and consists of six pieces that travel through different emotional and sonic landscapes. The album’s artistic direction was developed by Reaper Model, the band’s drummer, who signs off on a visual proposal in keeping with the concept of return and transformation that defines this work. With this new release, El Altar del Holocausto reaffirms its sonic and conceptual identity, consolidating a unique artistic statement within the European alternative rock scene.
