Heather Tobe - Ceramic - Pouring Bowl Approximately 2.5" high x 6" wide Bio Heather has been an ‘occasional potter’ for many years in addition to her full-time career teaching courses in interpersonal and intercultural communication in higher education, being involved in teacher education, and facilitating workshops. During her ‘occasional’ potter time, she had the privilege of taking courses with and learning from Cynthia McLean, and Louisa Leibman, and a specialized course titled Painting with Smoke at the Burnaby Shadbolt center of the arts with Linda Doherty. During her two years teaching in Hiroshima, Japan in the mid 90’s, she joined a pottery circle and mentored with a Japanese potter. Most recently, and with her move to the Comox Valley, she has had the opportunity to devote more time to pottery and has had the pleasure of learning from Gordon Hutchens in the pottery courses at North Island College. She is inspired by the environment around her – the land, the ocean, and the vegetation. She also brings home ideas through her travels. Currently, she is exploring the interaction of clay and glaze, and glaze on glaze. For forms, she loves making bowls
