Come on down for some Standard Format Pokemon! Gamer's Lair is back to hosting weekly Pokemon TCG tournaments, and we're excited to see everybody again! What is Standard Format? Standard Format is a variation of the Pokemon TCG where players are only allowed to play cards that have been printed within the last few years, and each year there is a rotation that removes the oldest sets in the format to make room for the newest ones.Information about what cards are legal in the format can be found here: https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/2022-pokemon-tcg-championship-series-season-format-rotation How to play Pokemon: Pokemon is a fairly easy game to understand and can be a lot of fun! If you're looking to learn how to play, there's a very useful tutorial right here on the pokemon website https://tcg.pokemon.com/en-us/how-to-play/ Date: Monday, June 15, 2026 at 6:30 PM Location: Gamer's Lair Entry Requirements: Entry to play is $6 after taxes, and will include on Pokemon TCG booster pack of your choice. Event Structure: Pokemon TCG events are played in 30 minute, best of 1 style games. Events are also done using Swiss rounds, with the number of rounds being determined by the number of players in attendence as follows: 4-8 Players: 3 Rounds of Swiss 9-16 Players: 4 Rounds of Swiss 17+ Players: 5 Rounds of Swiss Prizes: 1 Booster pack will be added to our prize pool for every 2 players who enter our tournament, these packs will be handed out to top performing players at the conclusion of the event.
