Ando × Luckyshroom Series V2 Luckyshroom — the Swiss-Australian designer behind the Flathead, a titanium digital watch produced in a limited edition of 100 pieces — reunites with Yu Ando, Japanese-Finnish designer and founder of AndoAndoAndo, for a second collaboration. Continuing a dialogue rooted in play, precision, and quiet subversion. Where the first series introduced a new perspective, Series V2 deepens it. Balance in Contrast This collection explores opposing forces. Light and shadow, motion and stillness, tradition and reinterpretation. Rather than altering the object, the approach is subtle. Surfaces, reflections, and textures are manipulated to shift how the watch is perceived in motion and in light. Series Balance in contrast is composed of six pieces across three distinct expressions. Each case begins as a hand drawn study. Patterns are sketched, scanned, and refined before being engraved into titanium using high powered laser processes, balancing human imperfection with technical accuracy. - NAMI NAMI - 波々 - The first expression draws from traditional wave forms, fluid, continuous, and deeply rooted in visual heritage. - KAIMON - 海紋 - The second reinterprets the wave as structure, geometric, woven, almost textile in its rhythm. - IN'EI - 陰影 - The third reduces the gesture entirely, an inverted mirrored cross, revealed only through movement, existing between presence and disappearance. Koi 鯉 On the case back, a duality emerges. A dark flathead and a light koi, hand drawn, circle each other in a yin yang configuration, set within a blue oval representing the world. Beneath, World Time is inscribed in Japanese, grounding the piece in both symbolism and origin. Series V2 reflects an inversion, of forms, of expectations, and of the previous collaboration itself.
