Feeling Lucky - II
I came across this large wall installation at a hotel — the saturated primaries transforming the orderly grid into something almost delirious, like a fever dream of midcentury design. What struck me was how dramatically a shift in color changes the emotional register entirely: where my monochrome version (Feeling Lucky - I) feels meditative and architectural, this one feels active, alive, almost loud. I titled them both Feeling Lucky because that's what I felt — a photographer stumbling onto something extraordinary in an ordinary hotel lobby. In developing this piece, I slightly shifted the "real" colors of the wall installation from relatively straight primaries to more nuanced tones.
