Antique 9K, Diamond & Garnet Quatrefoil Ring

A quatrefoil is a four lobed design of four partial intersecting circles. This design was used often in Victorian Gothic Revival jewelry. It is found in art, architecture, heraldry and traditional Christian symbolism. The word quatrefoil means "four leaves", and was also worn for luck as well as for displaying religious piety. Crafted in 9 karat yellow gold, this wonderful Gothic Revival ring has lyre motifs at the shoulders, a deep red garnet at the center, and twelve sparkling diamonds embellishing each lobe or petal.
