Victorian Micro Mosaic Dove Earrings 14k c. 1890

A pair of Victorian Grand Tour earrings from the late 1800's, most likely purchased in Italy and made in 14k yellow gold. These fabulous antique earrings (it always amazes me when a pair of earrings makes it to the present day and one doesn't get lost in the last 100+ years!) are made of an onyx backing set with tiny tesserae of glass to depict two doves. Beautiful on and neutral in color so they go with everything, you will have fun wearing these tiny works of art! Measure 1 1/8" length. Not stamped or signed but tested for metal content. Each earring weighs 3.5 grams. In good antique condition with all tesserae intact, some flea bites to edges of onyx as typical with age.
