This adapter lets you power the Bear Sentry energizer from household mains when the system has to stand up to continuous exposure to the elements, ex. around beehives or a chicken coup. But it’s really for testing the system at home, as it can’t handle long term use or being wet or damp. The energizer is IP54 rated, meaning it is protected against condensation, light rain or splashing water (not fully waterproof against soaking or submersion). While that rating has proven sufficient for camping (within our water resistant bag), more protection should be provided when harsh conditions are anticipated.
