WHAT WE LOVE: Raymond Weil has been producing beautifully finished Swiss dress watches since 1976, and the Genève 9124-2 is a quietly refined example of the house at its most characteristic. The 32mm 18ct gold electroplated case is elegantly slim at 5mm — it sits almost flat against the wrist and disappears effortlessly under a cuff. The white dial with its gilt Roman numerals and studded hour markers set through the minute track has a considered, jewellery-like quality, and the circular date aperture at 6 o'clock is a neat, considered touch. On a leather strap it is everything a dress watch should be. WHAT'S INSIDE: The 9124-2 is powered by a Swiss quartz movement — precise, reliable, and requiring nothing beyond an occasional battery change.
