Pouilly Fume "Les Bernadats", Cedrick Bardin
Type: White Wine Grape(s): Sauvignon Blanc Wine Region: Loire Valley, France Tasting Notes: On the nose, very intense and ripe: candied orange and flower orange tree. The opening then suggests a beautiful complexity. There are citrus fruits on the freshness and finesse: tangerine segments and orange juice mixed with a laying of flowers of cherry. Rather dense from the onset, the palate is structured and enveloping. It also offers a lovely freshness. As on the nose, finesse and complexity blend together. Like a fruit salad we find aromas of crunchy apple, slice of pineapple and orange juice. Finally some grapefruit zest adds length to the finish. The Estate: Planted on oldest plot of the estate, facing south on an exceptional terroir (marl Kimmeridgian) gives this wine fatness, roundness and powerful aromas. Suggested food and wine pairing: This vintage of character will accompany your smoked salmon, fish in sauce or white meats in sauce.
