Made in North Carolina, this Pisgah 11" Laydie combines old-world banjo design with modern playability. Featuring a beatiful curly maple pot and neck, this open-back banjo sports a scalloped "Whyte Laydie" tone ring, a design made famous by Vega banjos in the early 20th century. The combination of maple pot and upgraded tone-ring deliver a particulary refined sound, with a balanced string response making it a fantastic banjo for everything from old-time frailing to two and three-finger styles. A beutiful finish has been applied to the maple, leaving it untinted to really celebrate the grain of this North American hardwood. A great offering from our friends at Pisgah for a banjo with vintage tone and insightful attention to detail. Comes with a gig bag and a free Mass Street setup from our team of luthiers. 11" Maple rim with Whyte Laydie tone ring 18 bracket brass tension hoop with wide frailing notch 25.5" scale length Maple neck with satin finish and traditional dowel stick Richlite fingerboard - metallic face dots and S-style frailing scoop 15 Full frets Vintage-Style Headstock with Quilted star inlay Vintage Heel Remo renaissance head headstock access and magnetic truss rod cover Two way adjustable truss rod Ebony-topped bridge with traditional tailpiece Pisgah hawktail tailpiece Aged brass Balsam Banjoworks hardware White TUSQ XL nut Gotoh Tuners Access Stage One gig bag Serial# 4010
