Sarracenia × moorei - Leah Wilkerson F2 (Laurent)

Sarracenia × moorei 'Leah Wilkerson F2' (Laurent) is a selfed form of the well-known Sarracenia × moorei 'Leah Wilkerson'. This clone, selected by Laurent Cosnefroy, keeps the strong structure and vigour of the parent while showing clearer contrast and variation in the upper pitcher. Pitchers are tall and robust, with a wide tube that holds its shape through the season. Growth is continuous, with new traps produced from spring into late summer. Mature pitchers reach a large size, reflecting the strong Sarracenia leucophylla influence behind the original 'Leah Wilkerson'. The upper tube and lid show a pale background that can shift towards white in good light, especially in summer growth. Fine green veining runs across this area, remaining visible without overwhelming the base colour. The contrast between the pale top and the greener lower tube is more pronounced than in the original parent. The throat patch is a defining feature. It develops as a concentrated red mark that can deepen to a very dark, almost black-red tone. This sits clearly below the lid and stands out against the lighter upper section. The lip is thick and smooth, often matching the surrounding tones of the tube. As an F2 population, variation exists between different 'Leah Wilkerson' crosses, but this Laurent selection is in demand by collectors for its size, strong seasonal growth, and clear colour separation. It keeps the overall form of 'Leah Wilkerson' while pushing the contrast between white, green, and deep red further.
