Buffalo Trace "Mash & Journey" Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Back in June of 2025, we got the opportunity, thanks to Prime Barrel, to pick our first-ever Buffalo Trace single-barrel bourbon. The pick group chose four random barrels to taste from, and we landed on a barrel that easily stood out. It felt like everything you love about Mashbill #1, with big cherry and grape sweetness. We are excited to add this crushable Buffalo Trace to the collection. Cheers! Details: Mash & Journey Buffalo Trace Single Barrel 90 Proof Fill Date: 02/02/17 Warehouse K 4th Floor/Rick 40 Tasting Notes: Nose: Inviting aromas of rich vanilla, caramel, and cherry lead the way, complemented by powdered sugar and some sweet oak. Palate: The whiskey opens with layers of caramel and brown sugar, developing into a creamy vanilla custard character. Notes of ripe cherry and grape add depth and complexity, while gentle cinnamon spice provides balance and structure. Think of this like a Stagg light. Finish: A medium-length finish lingers with sweet oak and warm baking spices, gradually giving way to subtle hints of more cherry to round out the experience. This is exactly what you want in a really good Buffalo Trace single barrel, and I'm glad it's our first one ever for the group. -Jason
