Antique "Internalite" Illuminated Brass Glass 'Ladies' Wall Sign 1930s

A stunning antique "Internalite" illuminated brass & glass 'Ladies' wall sign, likely dating from the 1930s. The sign is an iconic directional sign & was engineered & manufactured by K.F.M. Engineering Co. Ltd. based in London, England. This piece epitomises British Art Deco design & because of their premium build & sleek glow, they were predominantly installed in upscale public spaces of the era, such as luxury hotels, grand cinemas, high-end theatres, and prestigious department stores. The sign uses a heavy piece of polished plate glass & the lettering ("LADIES") is reverse-etched directly onto the back of the glass pane. A solid cast brass housing runs along the top edge, securing the glass panel & holding the internal light fixture. The bulbs have been converted to LED bulbs.
