*From the store This is a style of painting known as “Inaba-goi,” or Inaba carp, favored by painters from Tottori Prefecture. Compared with ordinary carp, it is characterized by a fuller area around the head and a slightly elongated mouth. I was only able to find the painter Toho’s name, but since part of the name contains the character “Ina(稲),” it may be inferred that he was a pupil of Kuroda Toko, a master of Inaba-goi. In addition to ink, a small amount of gold pigment is used around the eyes.
