Yo El Rey - One Bad Man 2022

(Bot River, South Africa) Bot River, a Cape region less recognized for grape cultivation, is now home to a select group of outstanding producers crafting exceptional wines. Among them, Nabot stands out, cultivating the organic Grenache Noir that goes into One Bad Man. This wine was in fact the second to last vintage from this beautiful vineyard, sadly ripped up in 2024 but used by some of South Africa's best negoce producers in it's day. Angelo van Dyk crafts wines in South Africa with minimal intervention, working with carefully selected organic fruit. His approach emphasizes freshness, balance, and expression of site, resulting in wines that are pure, approachable, and reflective of their terroir.
