Its backbone - an award winnmg single malt of our own making, half peat-smoked, half clean - started life in small new oak barrels in Texas, then rolled into used Yellow Rose casks, then into spent Balcones malt barrel, then into pear brandy cask (chosen by our Patreon members, because crowd-sourced means crowd-sourced), then into Virginia STR cask for the finish. Six barrels for one spirit. The wings of the blend are of STR, Fino sherry, and Oloroso sherry casks from Virginia. And the last eight percent is a six-year MGP corn whiskey that spent its whole life in a single used oak barrel, quiet and patient while everything else was being thrown from vessel to vessel.
