Vintage 70s does 30s Chiffon Caped Tiered Peplum Dress • Sleeveless

Fabulous 70s does 30s so well with this sleeveless maxi dress with attached capelet and tiered peplums. Halter neck beneath the capelet which buttons at the neck. The print is gorgeous zingy orange balloons or lanterns with frondy leaves on delicate black silk sheer chiffon, it's such a Deco style design I wavered whether the dress was actually a 30s original. The hem line is asymetrical mirroring the pointy peplum and cape layers. It does not have a label but resembles the designs of 1970s Catherine Buckley which are sought after. Halter neck capelet, tiered chiffon maxi dress. Lined dress. Rear zip fastening. Gorgeous orange, blue, green and yellow print on black tissue thin chiffon. Made by unknown. MEASURES when laid flat edge to edge: 33/34" bust flat but may accomodate a 36 small cup (I couldn't get it over the shoulders of my 36 mannequin, the one pictured is a 10/12 manni). 26" waist. 36" hip. 14.5" nape to waist. 42" approx' of shortest asymetric length Condition overall very good but there's been a repair at the hem where probably a heel went through the fabric. It's a common wound but has been repaired quite well. See all images.
