In the luthier community, Osage Orange has the reputation of sounding like Brazilian Rosewood. I think it sounds better. It will age to a golden brown. The neck is Honduran Mahogany. The fingerboard and bridge are East Indian Rosewood. The trim and peghead veneer are Sycamore. It has plain Rubner Tuners. The rosette is made of colored veneers. It has a traditional French polish finish. This guitar is a delight to play. I sure hope I can make more like it." The top braces on all are scalloped and the bridges are carved to be light to allow the top to respond quickly to both high and low notes. The saddles are tall allowing easy picking and a strong response to a soft touch. The models are named after rivers in Virginia. Amazingly, even tiny adjustments can enhance both tone and volume, producing a responsive instrument that feels good to play. Building these 'live' guitars has become almost an obsession.
