In 1962, the Southern Jumbo shifted from its classic round-shoulder shape to a square-shoulder dreadnought design. 1969 marked the official conclusion of the traditional Southern Jumbo catalog run, transitioning into the rebranding known as the SJ Deluxe. This model retains the adjustable saddle, a charateristic feature of 1960s Gibson acoustics.
