Intro to Lace Knitting
Learn lace knitting in a way that feels totally doable. In this one-night class we’ll cast on the Reyna shawl (a small scarf/shawlette) to explore classic lace techniques without needing to follow charts. I’ll also show you how to use lifelines so you can relax and enjoy the process. What we’ll cover Yarn overs + decreases (and how lace “works”) Keeping track of repeats with simple counting + stitch markers Fixing common lace mistakes (without ripping everything out) Lifelines: when to add them and how they save your sanity Quick blocking tips so the lace opens up beautifully Who it’s for Adventurous beginners and up You should be comfortable with knit and purl (no lace experience needed) What you’ll leave with A confident start on your Reyna shawl and the know-how to keep going at home What to bring 3.5mm circular needles (80cm length) A few stitch markers A tapestry needle A length of scrap yarn or dental floss (for adding a lifeline) Yarn is included in the workshop.
