High-Impedance Harmonica Microphone Vintage 1993 Shure Controlled Magnetic Element 99A86 GG Fully Tested and Working Ever had one of those days? This assembly was going great until I spilled some epoxy on the bottom of the powder-coated shell. Trying to remove it was a failure. The original grill is pretty nicked up too. The tone is exceptional, but look carefully, there are dull scuffs in the powder coat on the bottom of the shell. Chopped, milled, and powder coated, this bullet mic is built from a classic Turner desk microphone. The center mohawk rib on the top has been trimmed to keep out of the way, while still paying homage to the original style. This makes the mic easier to hold, and a bit lighter too. The mic has a new Switchcraft 5/8” screw-on connector and a volume control for on-stage flexibility. This shell weighs 10 ounces, and has a well-worn chrome grille ring. The grill face features a vintage dimensional metal Shure medallion. Rough looking, but great sounding. Full, rich, and raspy distortion!
