Drop Spindling 101

Have you wanted to spin your own yarn? In this class, students will learn how yarn is made using one of the simplest tools—a drop spindle. We’ll cover selecting tools and fiber, drafting and spinning (using the “park and draft” method), plying, troubleshooting, and finishing yarn. This is a great introduction to explore spinning! Materials: drop spindle and 2 oz of fiber (Katie recommends Corriedale roving sold by the oz at YH). You will receive a 10% discount on materials purchased for the class, once registered we will send you an email with the discount code. Instructor: Katie Groves Classes are limited to six students, so sign up early! Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a refund, cancellation must be made 48 hours prior to the class date. No refunds will be given for missed classes or once class has started. We sometimes have to cancel classes that do not meet enrollment minimum, refunds will be given.
