How to Start Post Baptismal Group Gatherings

Many churches offer a formal, pre-baptism class that encompasses community building, theology (including the Gifts of Baptism), and belonging to the church community. Suggestions are given to parents on how to incorporate these ideas into family life after the child is born. This class takes place prior to baptism and usually prior to the child’s birth; with no follow-up. Families, in the years between the baptism class and Faith Formation, typically do not formally connect to the church community due to the constraints and challenges of raising young children and trying to maintain a work/life balance.
